North Coast Express is committed to providing accessible transportation to all passengers, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Both buses are equipped with ADA-compliant lifts and are capable of accommodating mobility devices.
Drivers are trained to safely operate lifts and secure mobility devices in use. Passengers are not required to travel with a companion to receive assistance.
Drivers will provide reasonable assistance to passengers who, due to disability, are unable to load, unload, or stow mobility devices that are not actively being used during the trip (such as folded wheelchairs or walkers), as long as doing so does not pose an undue burden or safety risk. Buses have designated storage areas for these mobility devices, and drivers will assist with stowing them when feasible and safe, in compliance with 49 CFR § 37.167(j). If storage is limited, we will coordinate alternative accommodations, such as pre-arranged assistance or safe securement of the device in another location.
Passengers will not be denied transportation due to an inability to stow mobility devices. North Coast Express and our operator, EcoShuttle, are committed to ensuring that passengers have equal access to service, including reasonable driver assistance and accommodations as needed.
To request an accessibility accommodation or reasonable modification in advance, please contact us at express@thepeoplescoast.com. We will make every effort to meet your needs.
Each bus has two securement areas for passengers who remain seated in their wheelchairs. These spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis, in accordance with ADA guidelines.
If both spaces are already reserved for a particular trip, we will do our best to help you find an alternative departure time. Riders are encouraged to book early or contact us in advance at express@thepeoplescoast.com to increase the likelihood of securing a space.
